Through our youth theatre programme we provide the opportunity for young people, throughout Pendle, to develop creative and life skills through taking part in high quality theatre activities.
Our youth theatres are not about becoming a star or landing the lead role. They are about:
Raising confidence and self esteem.
Enabling young people to realise their aspirations and expand their horizons.
The opportunity to work with professional artists.
Develop the skills to create the theatre they want to create.
Express themselves in a supportive, safe and creative environment.
Make new friendships through an ethos of teamwork which breaks down cultural and social barriers.
Our youth theatre activities include:
Weekly youth theatre sessions for age groups 8 - 12 ("The Fuse" Youth Theatre) and 13 - 18 ("Fuse 1318 Theatre Workshop) at Williams Hall, Barkerhouse Road, Nelson - See individual pages for details.
Holiday projects.
The creation of youth theatre productions.
HOW DO WE DO IT?
Fusion Community Arts works in close collaboration with professional theatre company "Function Factory Theatre" who deliver all of our youth theatre activities. With over 16 years of delivering theatre arts and youth theatre across Cheshire, Staffordshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester, as well as touring their own productions, Function Factory are now based in Pendle. The company's enthusiasm for and committment to work with young people and in the community as a whole, has formed an integral part in the establishment of our youth theatre activities.
